Hello Readers!
Check out the LAST CAKE EVER of 2011! Classes are starting and I've got projects to do, so we went out with a real bang with this last cake of the year... Chairry from Pee Wee's Playhouse! Pee Wee was also cool enough to Tweet to the whole wide world about it, and to wish my pal Brook a Happy Birthday! And there are a ton of "Likes" on Facebook now, How awesome is that?!?!
My photos aren't as pretty as Brook's, but here they are, taken just minutes after I finished piping it. :)
To see more cakes, for the fun of it, go here. Thanks for visiting! :D

Koala Cake!
Has it nearly been a month already since my last post? Sheesh!
Well I've got stuff to show you from my new client, but that will be in my next post. (Got to stay organized, you know.) Let me share with you the latest cake- though I doubt it's the last. Classes don't start until September... I wonder who else will weasel in a cake order before then? (This isn't an invitation for new orders, I am just musing!)
Anyway, this particular cake was made for my sister's college graduation party. She's smart, creative, and fabulously fun to be around, and now that she has a teaching degree for Elementary Education, she's even cooler in my book! I combined her favorite animal and color, and there ya go...
PS. This character design is of my own creation... although it's not super inventive, I'm still fond of it and I'd rather you not copy it. Thanks :)
Okay! See you again in a little bit... off to type up the next post! :D

A Few Last Cakes... (one is Harry Potter themed though!)
Hi there! It's been a while... sorry about that!
But it's summer here in New England, so if the weather is good then we don't much work done. Between holidays and graduations and anniversaries, it's hard to find time to be creative. I did get a chance to throw my long-awaited Harry Potter party in honor of the Deathly Hallows Part 2 release! And I've got two more cakes to share with you for now, but then I'm taking a little vacation and a mega Cake Break so I can work on my art! I've got a real live client now, hee hee, so I'm refocusing my creative energies!
Here's a nice chocolately one:
And here's my latest Pride and Joy... a new personal favorite! A Harry Potter themed Going-Away-to-College cake. for two cousins who are bestest pals! I made a Boo Boo and wrote UNH instead of UCONN, (I must have been half asleep when I did that) however I was able to fix it in a jiffy though I didn't get the chance to take a photo.
The kids each get an owl finger puppet to take with them to college... complete with a tiny parcel full of tiny good-luck wishes!
Next time I post there should be actual drawings! I can't wait to share with you my latest project!

50th Anniversary Cake...and some GOOD NEWS!
Hi there!
Hope your summer is going well so far! Mine certainly is... and I've got some good news I'll share with you after I post photos of the latest cake. Here they are:
And my Good News? It looks like I may have a new client! Things are not yet set in stone, however it looks promising! All I can tell you right now is that I would be illustrating a self-published early chapter book that is not only a science theme but will also be a comic/graphic novel! I will keep you updated on the status, and if the Author wishes to share sketches and things, hopefully those will be up soon too! :D (So I have been drawing lately, I just haven't been able to post the art until it's the right time.)

I Swear I'm Not a Cake Lady...
This weekend was also quite cake-crazy. We've got a few more lined up for the summer, but I feel like I can breathe a bit more now! And draw again!!!
And I've got another Potential Client! We are working on sketches for the characters in his self-published book. I'll keep you updated! :D
This cake was extra stuff from all our recent orders!
Hubby and I gave it to our helpful Physical Therapists
(at First Physical Therapy- their logo is a wave)
who are fixing our hurting shoulders and backs.
I played around with the colors a bit!
Teal is my favorite!
This cake is for our nephew who is turning five years old.
He requested a chocolate cake with pirate TOYS on it, haha!
So I made an island for them to search for buried treasure.
I actually put a red "X" next to the dude with the shovel, but forgot to take the photo of it!
These two sheet cakes are meant to be one cake.
We did it this way because no one owns a refrigerator
big enough to hold the full sized sheet cake!
The left side is vanilla and the right side is chocolate!
Congratulations on your retirement, Bob "Newport" !
He likes to boat, fish, and watch the dolphins swim alongside him!

Cake-crazy Weekend!
This weekend Hubby and I had quite a few cake orders to fill. We usually only need to make one cake, once a month or less. This weekend we had five, (*Correction: Technically, we created Seven cakes, because the tiny baby graduation cake counts as a cake, and the wedding cake was made of two cakes... Hubby insisted that it was seven) and thankfully only three (or now, five) of them needed to be decorated. The other two are what we call "cake fodder," because it was just a slice-and-eat sort of deal, no decorations.
Phew! Looking at those makes me tired all over again! But we have more orders over the next few weeks so I'd better not put those piping tips away just yet!
Happy Summer Everyone! :)
Anniversary Cake
And a Wedding Cake....
And a Batman Graduation Cake...
...and Batman's sidekick, the strawberry-free version.
(This one is just a baby, so I really didn't count it as a real cake.)
Happy Summer Everyone! :)

Other Ways I Spend My Time: Yorkie in the Garden Cake!
Why... hellooo.
So I've been dying to work on a painting all week- (almost TWO weeks, actually) but I had to focus on a few important things, run too many errands, and spend time with actual people instead of tubes of paint. (And it was so nice!) Oh, and we made another cake!
I sort of went all out on this one, because I'm in the arty mood, and because the customer was kind enough to give my husband and myself free flight vouchers to Mickey's House last January. So I owe him big time! (I totally wish this one could be a permanent fixture, made of a plastic of some sorts, because all I want to do is feel the texture of the butter cream... but we all know what would happen if I touched the real thing. Mayhem.)
Kinda cute, kinda Springy, and nice and colorful. It even has my two favorite stinky-flowers: purple hyacinths and bunches of lilacs. A new personal favorite! :)

Other Ways I Spend My Time: Patriots Jersey Cake & Spring Cake
Hi there!
It must be Birthday Month for us because we're not even a week into March and hubby and I have made two cakes already! And we have a third one later on! Which is fine by me; I needed a little mental break from Sketch Land as I move toward my next big project. :)
The first cake I wanted it to look like a Patriots jersey, with the birthday boy's name and age on it. Simple, but fun:
